Hello to everyone and Happy and as painfree as possible year to you all.

I have been on MTX and sulphsalinedine and was taken back off them and the reason is my liver count was going up the consultant at the Hospital waited till my liver count went back to Normal and then he put me on Enbrel and again I have been on this for 8wks as the other meds and again like the other meds but this time he has sent me for a liver scan the person that did the scan said she would have to do a detailed report for my consultant but she said she could see nothing at this point but needed to check in more detail. My reson for giving you this info is to ask has any one else experanced this I know that everyone is not the same but it is just interesting to see if any one has gone though this before.

I have also got fybromyalga and for this they have given me amatriptaline and they have said they will refere me to the pain clinic to help me control the pain I am having I know RA is painful but i am constantly in pain even in my sleep so any help or information any one has got or have done would be very help full.

Sorry for going on but pain does get to you and when you have it 24/7 you do get a little fed up.

all the best

Hello Audrey

For the pain i now have morphine patches which are best for me and may work for you.

I also have had problems with my liver (ALT) levels being too high. I was admitted to hospital in August after collasping and the problem was found to be the leflunomide i was on. I'm on MTX also but the leflunomide was stopped. I think it's quite a common problem with having RA.

Good luck with sorting out the pain relief. We all got fed up with the pain, it can really get you down.

Love Shirley x

Dear Audrey,
Happy New Year to you.
I am sorry that you are experiencing so much pain
and hope that your team will get it under control soon.
Never apologise for talking about being in pain - that is
when we most need the help and support of one another
on this site!
I have been having a flare-up of my R.A symptoms for the
previos 6 weeks and it was becoming quite severe.
Today has been one of my better days 'though, so I am really
hoping that I will continue to improve.
But it still comes as a shock to me just how much being in
pain just gets in the way of everything.
I really do sympathise with you and send you
gentle hugs.
Fiona

Hi Audrey, I'm on morphine patches too. Slow release, change them every 3 days.
My RA started 4 years ago, these patches are the best pain relief I've had so far.
Hope your pain free very soon, Happy New Year, Kathleen xx

Hi Audrey,

Never apologise on here! We are here to listen to each other's "moans" and we all know what you are going through!
I have had problems twice with raised liver enzymes and had to stop the mtx but only temporary, it's a problem a lot of us get with the drugs.
I have heard that amytriptaline is very good for fibromyalgia and when taken at night helps with sleep so I hope this works for you and you can get on top of your pain soon.

Love, Doreen xx

Hello Audrey

So sorry that you are sufferring at the moment . Never worry about moaning we can all
moan for England.

I had to stop mtx on 3 ocassions as it effected my liver and was unable to go back
on it again. Good luck and I hope that everything turns out well for you.
